Kiddie Corner Academy is a family-owned childcare center in Miami, Florida. We opened our doors in 1987 with three classrooms and room for 50 children.
Nearly four decades later, we have grown side-by-side with our community into sixteen classrooms and care for up to 405 children at a time — the same warm, family-run school, scaled up for the neighborhood we love.
What hasn’t changed: our commitment to affordable, high-quality care that feels like home.
Research shows the first five years of a child’s life are the most formative — those are the years that shape how a child learns, plays, and relates to the world.
Our philosophy is simple: children thrive when the environment is warm, the learning is play-based, and the adults around them are genuinely present. Our day blends literacy, music, art, science, sensory exploration, language, and physical play into rich, developmentally-appropriate routines.
We believe in real partnership with parents. You’re trusting us with your child, and we take that seriously. We’re honored to be part of your village.

Where we are today
Today we serve Miami families at 7640 NW 186th St. Bilingual English-Spanish, A.P.P.L.E. nationally accredited, Florida Gold Seal, free VPK provider, USDA Child Care Food Program. Same family. Same mission.
From our humble beginnings to now, our philosophy has always remained the same — to offer affordable, high-quality child care and a nurturing home away from home.— KIDDIE CORNER ACADEMY · SINCE 1987
Four ideas, lived every day.
Family first
Family-owned and operated since 1987. We treat every child the way we would want our own treated — affordable, high-quality care that feels like home.
Two languages, one childhood
Bilingual English and Spanish, with multicultural programming throughout the day. Children grow up hearing and using both languages naturally — the way Miami works.
Play is how children learn
Play-based, developmentally-appropriate learning rich in literacy, music, art, science, sensory exploration, language, and motor play. We use the Funshine Express school readiness curriculum.
Safety as default
Security-coded entrance. On-site cameras. Every staff member CPR and Pediatric First Aid certified annually, with references checked, credentials verified, and criminal background check completed before hire. The health and safety of every child is our highest priority.
Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, welcoming place where every child can reach their full potential. We deliver high-quality early care that stimulates each child’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth.
The goal: confident, curious, independent thinkers who grow up to be thoughtful, capable, and generous members of their community.
Kiddie Corner is a place where you can leave your child for the work day with confidence. Loving, caring second home!

Trained on our standards
Every teacher completes a comprehensive training course on our policies, curriculum, child-care practices, and developmental milestones — before they're ever alone with a class.

Health, Safety & Security
The health, safety, and security of every child in our care is our number-one priority. Below are the measures we have in place — not an exhaustive list, but the ones parents ask about most.
CPR & First Aid certified staff
Every teacher is trained and annually re-certified in First Aid and infant/child/adult CPR.
Keypad-secured entry
All access doors are secured with keypad locks. Parents receive a personal code; approved pickup persons must present photo ID.
Cameras in every classroom
Surveillance cameras are outfitted in classrooms, hallways, access doors, and offices for administration monitoring throughout the day. (We do not offer live streaming to parents for safety reasons.)
Strict daily sign-in / sign-out
Every child is signed in by name and signed out by an approved adult, every day. No exceptions.
Trained for emergencies
Our staff is trained on storms, tornados, fires, and lockdowns. Written policies and regular safety drills ensure we’re ready.
Five age-appropriate playgrounds
Our enclosed play areas are separated by age group. Equipment is maintained and tested regularly.
Open, organized classrooms
Each classroom is designed with age-appropriate toys and equipment. Open layouts maximize supervision and safety.
USDA-compliant meals + allergy care
Meals meet USDA patterns and Florida Department of Health regulations. Substitutions are available for documented allergies, vegetarianism, or religious needs.
If you ever have a concern, ask us.
A safe school is a transparent school. If you want to see a policy, know a routine, or review our emergency plan, ask — we'll show you.
Contact usFree, USDA-approved meals every day
Good nutrition fuels every hug, every song, and every big discovery of the day. That's why we plan, prepare, and serve meals kids actually want to eat.
We believe healthy, nutritious meals are vital to a child's development, growth, and learning. That's why we proudly participate in the federal Child Care Food Program — offering FREE wholesome breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack to every child enrolled at our school.
Three balanced meals daily
Well-balanced, age-appropriate, and properly portioned.
Weekly rotating menus
Variety every week keeps kids satisfied. Menus are posted monthly and available in our school.
USDA + Florida DOH compliant
All meals meet the patterns established by the US Department of Agriculture and regulated by the Florida Department of Health.
Allergy & dietary accommodations
Kids with documented allergies, vegetarian diets, or religious dietary needs can participate if compliant substitutions are available. Parents bring meals when no substitution fits. Doctor's notes welcome for specific requirements.
Hydration always available
Water throughout the day; milk served at meals.
No extra cost
Meals are fully included in tuition — a real savings for working families.
A federal program working for Florida families
The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federal initiative administered in our state by the Florida Department of Health. It reimburses qualified child-care providers for serving meals that meet USDA nutritional standards — so families like yours get a school day full of real, wholesome food at no extra cost.
